Taking a tough step against China, the Government of India had banned many loan apps a day before i.e. on 5 February. The target of this action was mainly the loan apps of China, but the loan apps of some Indian companies have also had to bear the brunt of this.
ET has reported quoting a senior government official that the government has announced to ban more than 230 apps on Sunday, including some such apps which have no relation with China. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has received inputs from the Ministry of Home Affairs to ban these apps.
LazyPay got banned
PayU’s Buy Now- Pay Later service app Lazypay has also suffered the loss of this ban. A down notice has been pasted on the website of Fintech company PayU’s Lazypay. On Monday, a notice posted on the website of Lazypay read, “The website has been blocked as per the order given under the IT Act 2000 of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.”
However, it is not yet officially clear why the ministry has given such a notice to Lejipe. Let’s tell that it is owned by the Dutch company Naspers of South Africa.
On the other hand, Payu’s spokesperson says that our website and apps are not opening on the network of some internet service providers. We would like to assure our customers that we are doing everything possible to resolve the issue.
Kissht service also stopped
Not only this, the service of other loan platform Kissht is also not available in India. No comment has been made by the Ministry in this regard. Let us tell you that China’s business group Fosun had more than 17 percent stake in the installment app, but later it was bought by several government funds of Singapore.
Kisht’s co-founder Ranveer Singh says that he will contact the ministry about this. So that it can be resolved as soon as possible and its service can be provided to our lakhs of customers.
