Tomorrow i.e. from December 1, Jio’s prepaid plans will become expensive by 21 percent. To avoid the tariff hike, users can go ahead with Jio’s multiple recharge features and opt for monthly recharge. It adds the recharge to the queue in the account of the users in the same sequence in which they are recharged. Recharges will appear as Upcoming plans under the My Plans section of the My Jio app.

Jio notes that the benefits of the latest recharge plan will be applicable only after the end of the current plan. Users can pre-recharge as many as they want to avoid tariff hikes through the MyJio app. Jio said that it continues to offer the lowest tariff despite a 20 per cent hike in tariff. Another way to avoid tariff hikes is by subscribing to long term or annual plans.

Saving can be done with annual plan

Users can save up to Rs 480 if they subscribe to annual plans. From tomorrow, Jio’s Rs 1299 prepaid plan will be increased to Rs 1559. This plan offers a validity of 336 days and offers 24GB data, unlimited voice calls and 3600 SMS. Jio’s prepaid plan of Rs 2399 will be increased to Rs 2879. This is an annual plan that offers a validity of 365 days with 2GB daily data, unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day.

Jio users can also choose a plan with a validity of 84 days. Jio has three prepaid plans with a validity of 84 days. These plans priced at Rs 329, Rs 555 and Rs 599 will be increased to Rs 395, Rs 666 and Rs 719 respectively. While all the plans offer unlimited calls and 100 SMS per day, they offer 6GB data, 1.5GB daily data and 2GB daily data respectively.

Airtel and Vodafone Idea have already increased the tariff

Meanwhile, Airtel and Vodafone Idea have already increased their tariffs by up to 25 per cent. Telecom companies had noted that the hike would help in their average revenue per user (ARPU). Airtel has two annual prepaid plans with 3GB daily data that will offer 365 days validity. These plans will come for Rs 1799 and Rs 2999 respectively and will bring 24 GB data and 2 GB daily data respectively. These plans will also come with unlimited calling and 100 SMS per day.

The annual prepaid plans of Vi will cost Rs 1799 and Rs 2899 respectively. The benefits of these plans include 24GB data and 1.5GB daily data respectively, as well as unlimited calls, 100 SMS per day, and 365 days validity.
