Sometimes innocent people are trapped through malware and sometimes by becoming fake bank employees. Recently it has been seen that many people have been cheated by the greed of free movie downloads. Scammers also cheat through fake calls. This is the method of voice phishing when the bank account details of the users are stolen by sending fake calls and messages posing as employees of a company or bank.
Cybercriminals take users to phishing websites by making fake calls. These websites are very dangerous. Recently a malware named FakeCalls has been detected. In this, users are trapped through voice phishing, and fraud is done by stealing their banking details.

5000 crore loss
Fakecalls malware pretends to be an employee of one of more than 20 financial applications. In this, the conversation of bank or financial service employees is copied. The maximum attack of this malware has happened on South Korea.
Here users are being cheated through voice phishing for a long time. According to an estimate, about $ 600 million (about Rs. 5,000 crore) has been lost due to this attack.

Cyber criminals have made many big financial institutions their victims. They copy these companies and trap people in their clutches through fake calls and apps. When users unknowingly download Fakecalls malware, they are not aware that their bank account details are at great risk while using banking apps.
