But it is not yet decided whether India will play in it or not. Because the role of the government also remains in the cricket matches between India and Pakistan.
Indian Sports Minister Anurag Thakur’s statement in this regard has come after Pakistan got the hosting of the Champions Trophy. On the question of the Indian team going to Pakistan for this tournament, he said, ‘When the time comes, the Government of India and the Ministry of Home Affairs will decide on going to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. During international championships, a decision is taken after looking at all the sides. By the way, many countries of the world shy away from visiting Pakistan. Since the attack on the Sri Lankan team in 2009, no major team has toured there. Recently England, New Zealand canceled the tour of Pakistan.
In recent times, cricket matches between India and Pakistan are held only during ICC events. These include events like World Cup, T20 World Cup and Champions Trophy. Recently, it was under him that India-Pakistan played a match in the T20 World Cup in UAE. Earlier in 2019, there was a cricket match between India and Pakistan.
India-Pakistan have not played series among themselves since 2012
India last visited Pakistan in 2005-06. At the same time, the last bilateral series between these two countries was played in the year 2012, when Pakistan toured India. Since then, the two countries do not play each other other than tournaments like ICC events and Asia Cup. The demand for a cricket series between India and Pakistan has been rising continuously, but due to the kind of situation between the two countries, it does not happen. Recently, there has been a lot of tension in the relations between the two countries. Due to this problems have also increased.
At the same time, the ICC has given India the rights to host three major tournaments in eight years between 2024 and 2031. Under this, the T20 World Cup is to be played in 2026, the Champions Trophy in 2029 and the World Cup in 2031. India has got the most hosting rights.
