In the first Test match being played in Perth, facing a mountain-like target of Australia, the West Indies team scored 192 runs losing three wickets till the end of the fourth day’s play on the basis of a century by their captain Craig Brathwaite. (Getty Images)
Craig Brathwaite came out to open and shared a 116-run partnership with Tejnarine Chanderpaul for the first wicket. After Tejnarayan, Sharmah Brooks and Jermaine Blackwood were also dismissed but Brathwaite stayed for the whole day and completed his century. (West Indies Cricket)
Brathwaite scored 101 runs in 166 balls which included 11 fours. Since 2014, only 11 centuries have been scored by a West Indies opening batsman in Test cricket and all these centuries have come from Brathwaite’s bat, which shows how much the team depends on Brathwaite in this format. This is Brathwaite’s first century against Australia. Apart from this, he also completed his 5000 runs in Test cricket. His century has saved the pride of West Indies who are struggling to save this match. (West Indies Cricket)
By the end of the fourth day’s play, West Indies have scored 192 runs losing three wickets in 62 overs. Kraigg Brathwaite 101 and Kyle Myers are at the crease without opening an account.
