The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the three-match ODI and T20 series of the same number of matches against Sri Lanka late on Tuesday night. After coming in front of these teams, one thing was surprising. Young wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant was not named in both these teams. Earlier it was speculated that Pant was discharged but now news has come that Pant is injured and he has been asked to report to the National Cricket Academy. News agency PTI gave information about this.
PTI has written in its report that Panta has a knee problem and hence he has been asked to report to the NCA for two weeks of rehab. That is why he will not play in Sri Lanka series.
BCCI kept silence
In the press release issued by the BCCI regarding the selection of Team India, it has not been told whether Pant has been rested or he has been dropped. Pant is continuously failing in limited overs and that is why it was being speculated that Pant’s limited overs career may either end or it may take a break for a few days. Still, however, the situation is not clear on this because the BCC has neither given information about Pant’s injury, nor has he been ruled out or given rest. Haven’t been selected but what will happen next has to be seen.
did well in the test
Looking at the kind of batsman Pant is, everyone felt that he would be more successful in limited overs but would not be able to draw a long career in Tests. However, the reverse has happened. Pant is doing amazing in Tests. He recently scored 93 runs in the first innings of the second Test match on Bangladesh tour. He has done wonders in Tests in England, Australia
