Deepak Chahar was injured in the series against West Indies in Kolkata. He has muscle problem and is currently working on his injury at NCA.
India’s finest young all-rounder Deepak Chahar did not play in IPL-2022 due to injury. Chennai Super Kings had to bear the brunt of this. That is why he did not play in the South Africa series. Now the news has come out about his injury. It will take four to five weeks for Deepak to recover completely. Deepak is troubled by the problem of muscle injury. Not only Deepak, another all-rounder of the Indian team, Washington Sundar, is also troubled by the injury. He has a hand injury. There has also been an update regarding his injury. He is currently recovering from his injury at NCA. He is accompanied by left-arm fast bowler T. Natarajan. But Sundar will leave for England and play county cricket for Lancashire.
A BCCI source told news agency PTI on the condition of anonymity, “Washington is close to achieving his full fitness and now he needs game time which he will get only in red ball cricket. He is going to play for Lancashire. This will benefit them a lot.”
When will Deepak return?
At the same time, news has also come about the return of Deepak. Deepak can make a comeback in West Indies tour or Asia Cup. Deepak suffered an injury during the series against West Indies in Kolkata. He appeared in good tempo at the NCA this morning. Deepak told PTI, “I am bowling four to five overs at a time and this is my rehab program at the moment. My recovery is going great at the moment and I think it will take four or five weeks for me to be match fit.”
Will not be fit till England series
Deepak admitted that he would not be fit till the England series. India and England have to play T20 series in the second week of July. He said, “As far as recovery is concerned, it is a process. I don’t think I will be fit till the T20 series against England. Once I am match fit, I will have to play at some club level again so that I can check my fitness.”
When asked whether he will be fit till the West Indies tour? To this Deepak said, “I can’t say that but I will definitely try to be fit till then. Let’s see what happens.”
India has to play a series of three ODIs and five T20 matches against the West Indies. This series will be played from July 22 to August 7.
