After losing the ODI series against Bangladesh, Team India was expected to make a tremendous comeback in the Test format, but something different was seen in the first session of the first day of the Chattogram Test. Four big batsmen of Team India’s top order proved to be a bad flop. The bat of Shubman Gill, captain KL Rahul and veteran batsman Virat Kohli remained silent. All three became victims of very careless game. These three players returned to the dressing room before 20 overs.
Shubman Gill was the first to return to the dressing room. The player looked all set at the crease but a bad sweep shot ended his game. Gill lost his wicket while trying to paddle sweep the ball of Taijul Islam. Gill tried to play T20 format shots in Test cricket and he had to suffer the consequences.
Rahul-Kohli also made a mistake
Captain KL Rahul had the responsibility to stay at the crease but he got bowled on a very average ball from Khalid Ahmed. Rahul tried to drive the ball going away and as a result the ball hit the inside edge of his bat and entered the wicket. Rahul looked very disappointed with his wicket.
Virat Kohli was also dealt cheaply
Let us tell you that it was expected from Virat Kohli that he would put a peg on the pitch and absorb the pressure of falling two wickets, but instead of shining under this pressure, he himself got scattered. He was out LBW on the ball of Taijul Islam. Virat took the review but the umpire’s decision proved correct.
After the fall of three wickets, Pant and Pujara took the team’s score forward. Both took the score to 85 runs before lunch. Pant batted furiously in his own style, while Pujara, on the other hand, was seen playing a restrained innings. However, the top order of the team disappointed the fans a lot.
