Vikas says that the police asked him for a fine for not wearing a mask even after sitting in the car, which Vikas refused to give and then the police beat him up. Vikas said that he has got an injury near his eye in the fight. Delhi Police (Delhi Police) However, has denied these allegations and said that the injury to the bowler took him to the police station. News agency ANI gave this information.
According to the agency’s report, this incident happened on Wednesday in Bhikaji Cama Place area of Delhi. Vikas said on this matter, “I was going from the house of a cricketer friend to my house in Mohammadpur at 12 o’clock in the day on 26 January. The police standing near Mohammadupar village stopped me near the barricades. I was not wearing a mask at that time. The police demanded Rs 2,000 from me.”

Vikas admitted that he was not wearing a mask and it was his fault. He alleged that when he refused to pay the fine, the police beat him up. Vikas told that he took them to the police station. He said, “On January 26, some cops stopped my car and asked me for Rs 2000 because I was not wearing a mask. When I told him that I was inside my car, he started abusing me. One of them was Puran Meena who punched me. He took me to the police station.”
Vikas said that Puran Meena threatened to implicate him in a fake case while taking him to the police station.
Police denied the allegations
South West DCP Gaurav Sharma has termed the allegations leveled by Vikas as baseless. He said that when Vikas was fined, he tried to run away and that’s why he got hurt. He said, “Vikas was stopped for checking on Republic Day. He was not wearing a mask in a public place but instead of supporting the police, he started misbehaving. He started saying that how can a constable rank officer stop a national level cricketer. When the police asked him to put on a mask on the barricade and pay a fine, he tried to run away with the car, the police tried to stop him and it cost him.
Vikas has played for Delhi and RCB
Vikas has been playing for Delhi and in domestic cricket. He has also played in the IPL for Royal Challengers Bangalore, captained by Virat Kohli. He has played 15 first class matches in his career and has taken 32 wickets. He has 11 matches in List A and has taken 19 wickets here. He has played 17 matches in T20 and has taken 16 wickets in his name.
