Looks like it’s hat-trick season in Australian cricket. Be it in the country or abroad, women cricketers or men, international matches or league cricket, Australian bowlers are taking hat-tricks. On the one hand, Australia’s medium pacer Heather Graham took a hat-trick in the T20 match against India on Tuesday, and a few hours later, Australia’s fast bowler Michael Neiser achieved this feat in the Big Bash League by registering this special achievement in his name.
In the 12th season of the Big Bash League being played in Australia, Brisbane Heat and Maineburne Renegades clashed on Wednesday, 21 December, in which Brisbane, batting first, scored just 137 runs losing 8 wickets. Now to defend such a small score, Brisbane needed a good performance from the bowlers. Neesar, who did wonders for Australia in the day-night Test against the West Indies with the pink ball a few days ago, took up this responsibility.
Batsman’s huge mistake and hat-trick
The right-arm pacer got his team off to a great start by picking up a wicket on the very first ball of Melbourne’s innings. Then on the last ball of the same over, Jake Fraser was caught out by the wicketkeeper. The start with these two wickets fueled Neesar and then in his next over, he wreaked havoc again. Neeser, who returned to bowl in the third over, bowled Nick Maddinson on the very first ball and now he was on a hat-trick.
In front of him was Jonathan Wells, who was facing the first ball. Then Wells did something that surprised everyone. Made the mistake of leaving Neesar’s ball to the wicketkeeper but missed the line completely and got bowled.

Ninth hat-trick in BBL
Along with this, Neesar created panic by completing his hat-trick in the first two overs of the match. This is the 9th hat-trick in the history of Big Bash League while he became the eighth bowler to take a hat-trick in BBL. Melbourne’s score became 4 wickets for 9 runs within just 2.2 overs due to Neesar’s havoc.
