The bowling power of Mumbai Indians is the pair of fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult. Both of these bowlers have played an important role in making the team the champion for the last time. Kiwi bowler Trent Bolt joined Mumbai last season, but with his bowling, he has made the team his important place. Bolt’s journey in the IPL began in the year 2015. Bolt had a great performance in the 2015 World Cup, which was later bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad. After this, in the year 2017, he was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for five crore rupees. However, he played the same season here as well, after which he played for the Delhi Capitals for two seasons.
Trent Boult has played six seasons in the IPL so far. He has played in every season since 2015. He took seven wickets in his first match in which he took nine wickets. Since then, he has greatly improved his game and currently he is included in the top bowlers of the league. He has played 48 matches so far in which he has taken 63 wickets at an economy rate of 8.53.
Had a great performance in the last season
New Zealand fast bowler Trent Boult also played a key role in making Mumbai the champion last year. Bolt took 25 wickets in 15 matches and took a lot of class of the batsmen of the opposing team along with Jaspreet Bumrah. Bolt will be expected to perform similarly this time too. He remained in the Purple Cap race till the end. He finished third at the end of the season. His partner Jaspreet Bumrah and Kagiso Rabada of Delhi Capitals were ahead of him.
Bolt has a unique record
Mumbai Indians fast bowler Trent Boult had a big record last season. He dismissed Delhi Capitals opener Marcus Stoinis with the first ball. With this wicket, Bolt got a unique record in the name of IPL. This is the first time in the history of IPL when a bowler has taken a wicket with the first ball of the match. Not only this, Bolt has also dismissed a player from the first ball of the match for the first time in his T20 career.
Trent Bolt will not be able to play full IPL
The first Test match of the series will be played between England and New Zealand at Lord’s from 2 June. The IPL playoffs will be played between 25 May to 30 May. While the group stage matches will end on May 23. In such a situation, it is possible to leave Bolt in the middle of the IPL and join the national team. If this happens, it can cause great difficulty for Mumbai Indians.
