Emergency due to corona in Japan before Tokyo Olympics
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Government of Japan are engaged in efforts to successfully organize the Tokyo Olympics (Tokyo Olympics 2020). It is being opposed from within Japan, because the situation of coronavirus in the country is not yet completely improved. In such a situation, this risk can be increased by organizing the Olympics. Keeping this in mind, the organizing committee of Tokyo Olympic is now considering to organize the games without the presence of the audience. The Olympic Games are to be held in Tokyo from 23 July to 8 August this year. These games were postponed last year.
A few weeks ago the organizing committee had banned the entry of foreign spectators to the Olympic Games in view of the worldwide epidemic with Japan and decided to allow only local fans to come. Now that the situation is not improving, it is believed that even the local audience will not be able to witness the biggest sporting event in their country.
Decision on local fans soon
These Tokyo Olympics, held last year, were postponed for a year due to coronaviruses. Now there is less than two months left for them to start and the situation remains serious. In such a situation, the chairman of the organizing committee, Seiko Hashimoto, indicated on Friday that local fans may also be banned. Seiko Hashimoto said,
“We will take a quick decision on the matter of the fans, but this decision will be taken after the Emergency is removed.” Many people are saying that we will have to organize these games without the audience, but the audience is being allowed to come to other sports. We have to think about the impact on the local medical service before taking any decision. “
Emergency extended in Tokyo again
In Japan and especially in Tokyo and surrounding areas, the Government of Japan has imposed an emergency since the month of February, which the government is continuously increasing. On Friday itself, the Government of Japan has extended the emergency imposed till May 31 to June 20, so that the control of Corona cases can be tightened.
