Sri Lanka managed to emerge victorious in 2014. He had won the final beating India but if he had done the way Rangana Herath did in the semi-finals, the team would not have reached the final. Sri Lanka faced New Zealand in the semi-finals. Sri Lanka were all out for 119 runs. But then Herath broke New Zealand’s back by taking five wickets. He sent Brendon McCullum, Ross Taylor, Jimmy Neesham, Luke Ronchi and Trent Boult to the pavilion.
West Indies team was in the final of 2016 T20 World Cup. In front of him was England. Both the teams had won the T20 World Cup once each. There was a struggle for the second title. England’s victory looked certain as West Indies needed 19 runs in the last over. Ben Stokes was bowling and Carlos Brathwaite was in front. The West Indies player dashed England’s plans of victory by hitting four sixes and gave West Indies the title win for the second time.
