The location of the clay target flying from the left side of the range is called the “high house” and the target emanating from it is called the ‘mark’, while the right side is called the ‘low house’ and the clay bird emanating from it is called the ‘bridge’. The shooters stand and fire from 8 different places which are called “stations”. Each shooter gets a total of 125 targets in 5 rounds, that is, aiming to target 25 targets in each round. A squad of maximum 6 players is formed, which target station numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 one by one. When and when a target will come out of which station, it is decided beforehand. Double trap shooting rules
In the double trap event of shotgun shooting, two clay targets are targeted at a time, and both have to be shot. However, now this event has been removed from the Olympic Games list.
Shotgun shooting coach Paramjit Singh Sodhi explains that, the 12 bore gun used in this game opens by turning the lever and 2 cartridges are inserted in it. Close it slowly and put it on the shoulder, it is called a bridge so that the target comes out and then follow the target and press the trigger. Its pellet falls at 100 yards, but its effective range is 40 to 50 yards. Whatever clay target comes out, it has to be broken before 40 yards, after which it goes out of range. As soon as you stand near the mike at the station and call the bridge with a position, the target will start to move away, the front part of the gun has to be run on the target.
