Smith also praised the BCCI’s efforts for the safe return of South African players. The South African players returned home on Friday and are still on their quarantine at home. He said, “The way the BCCI took care of the players is exemplary. It was a little easier for our players because our borders were not closed and commercial flights were available for them. ”
IPL-2021 postponed
In the current season of the IPL, apart from Kolkata Knight Riders’ Varun Chakraborty and Sandeep Warrior, three support staff from Chennai Super Kings and five DDCA groundsmen were found to be infected with Corona on Monday. On Tuesday, Riddhiman Saha of Sunrisers Hyderabad and Amit Mishra of Delhi Capitals were also found to be Kovid positive. Due to this, the BCCI and the IPL Governing Council on Tuesday decided to postpone it indefinitely.
