Imran had undoubtedly left the game but his influence remained on the team for a long time. Pakistan has not got another Imran Khan till date. Couldn’t even find that captain who could repeat Imran’s work i.e. win the ODI World Cup to Pakistan. It was under Imran’s captaincy that Pakistan won its only ODI World Cup so far.

Imran played his last Test match against Sri Lanka in Faisalabad between January 2 and January 7. At that time the test used to last for six days, out of which one day was rest day. In his last test match, Imran gave victory to Pakistan. But Imran did not bowl in this match. He batted but was not much successful. In the first innings, 22 runs came out of Imran’s bat. And in the second innings he could not even open the account. Pakistan won this match by three wickets.
Sri Lanka had scored 240 runs while batting first. Pakistan had scored only 221 runs in the first innings. Sri Lanka were bundled out for 165 runs in the second innings and Pakistan got a target of 185 runs, which the hosts achieved by losing seven wickets.
Made the team world champion again
After saying goodbye to Test cricket, only two months later, Imran made his team the world champion. In 1992, the final of the ODI World Cup was played on March 25, in which Pakistan won the title of world champion by defeating England. After this his career came to an end. After Imran, no Pakistani captain could win the ODI World Cup to the team. Younis Khan definitely made Pakistan the world champion in 2009 in T20.
Imran played 88 Test matches in his career and scored 3807 runs at an average of 37.69. He scored six centuries and 18 half-centuries. At the same time, he played 175 matches for Pakistan in ODIs and scored 3709 runs at an average of 33.41. In ODIs, he scored a century and 19 half-centuries.
