China’s mobile manufacturer Vivo has pulled out of the sponsorship of IPL.
Tata becomes the new sponsor of IPL
Chinese mobile manufacturer Vivo (Vivo) Has pulled out of IPL sponsorship. instead of Tata (Tata) IPL from next season (IPL 2022) Will be the new sponsor. The decision on making Tata Group the new sponsor of the IPL was taken in the Governing Council meeting on 11 January. IPL Governing Council chairman Brajesh Patel has given this information.
Brajesh Patel said, “Vivo has pulled its hands from sponsorship. And now Tata will be our new title sponsor in his place.” Vivo’s deal with IPL was not over yet. There were still two more years left for his contract to end. But, before that he withdrew from the Indian T20 league. Now for the next 2 years, Tata will be the title sponsor of the IPL. This means that there will be IPL but it will be known as Tata IPL and not Vivo IPL.

Other major decisions were also taken in the IPL Governing Council meeting, in which apart from making Tata the IPL sponsor, a letter of intent has been handed over to the CVC Group, which bought the Ahmedabad team.
Vivo bought title sponsorship in 2018
Vivo had bought the rights of IPL title sponsorship in the year 2018. For this, the company had to pay Rs 440 crore to BCCI every year. This agreement of Vivo was till the year 2022. But, due to the increased Indo-China tension on the border, Vivo skipped the sponsorship for the year 2020 season. And, his Jagga Dream 11 became the title sponsor of the IPL. Vivo made a comeback in IPL 2021 after a break of one year. Along with this, his contract was also extended from the year 2022 to 2023.
There will be a lot of new things in IPL 2022
VIVO has transferred IPL rights to Tata. With this IPL has now become Tata IPL. The next season of IPL will be Tata IPL, which is also going to start afresh. This time again there is going to be a mega auction for the players, in which their names will be bidding. Also for the first time 10 teams will be seen playing instead of 8. That means more competition and more adventure.
