But many big faces have not got a chance in the Indian T20 World Cup team. These include names like Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, T Natarajan, Shikhar Dhawan, Sanju Samson, Manish Pandey. Kuldeep, Samson and Pandey were also part of Team India for the recent T20 series on Sri Lanka tour. Apart from these, players like Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar and Shreyas Iyer are also not included in the main team. These are kept as standby.
Dhawan, Chahal, Samson, Pandey and Kuldeep were part of the Indian team that toured Sri Lanka in July. He also played T20 series there. But he could not win the trust of the selectors for the World Cup. Among them, Dhawan’s absence is most surprising. He has been among the highest run-scorers in the last two IPLs. why not pick these players
Kuldeep Yadav- Haven’t been in form in recent times. In fact, there has been a decline in performance since 2019 itself. Constantly sitting outside the team. Not a part of Kolkata Knight Riders’ playing XI in IPL too. There is also a lack of confidence.
Yuzvendra Chahal- were proving to be quite expensive. It was easy for the batsmen to play him. Could not run against England first in Australia and then in the home series. The new leg-spinners were playing better in the form of Rahul Chahar, Varun Chakraborty.
Sanju Samson- He could not take advantage of all the opportunities he got in Team India. Couldn’t even score a half-century. Then the game of Rishabh Pant and Ishan Kishan was also excellent and both are lefties, so Samson fell behind.
Manish Pandey- This middle order batsman has also not been able to play any big innings in Team India so far. Although his figures are much better in appearance but his performance is not reliable.
