T20 World Cup 2021: Bowling coach Bharat Arun questions IPL schedule!
Ahead of his last few matches as India’s bowling coach, Bharat Arun admitted that the team’s performance in the ICC T20 World Cup was disappointing due to fatigue from the toss and bio-bubble, where they faced tough matches against Pakistan and New Zealand. Had to be defeated. When Arun was asked whether the short time between IPL (Indian Premier League) and T20 World Cup affected the performance of the team, he said yes it is.
Bharat Arun said, ‘It is a big deal to be away from home for six months. I think they got a short break after the suspension of the last IPL, after that the players have not gone home. Arun said before the last match of the group stage against Namibia, ‘The players are in the bio bubble for 6 months and it has a lot of effect on the body. A short break (time) between IPL and World Cup could have been beneficial for the players.
The toss became a major reason for the loss!
Bharat Arun, however, was disappointed that the toss played an important role in a tournament of this stature. There was a big difference in batting in the first and second innings of the Indian team. It was difficult to bowl in the second innings because of the dew. He said, ‘The toss played a very important role and I believe that in a tournament like this, the toss should not have any effect on the result.’ He said, ‘There has been an unfair advantage of the toss and there is a huge difference between batting in the first innings and batting in the second innings. This should not happen in such a short format.
