The Supreme Court has given a big decision regarding the All India Football Federation and has constituted a committee of three member administrators for its functioning.
The Supreme Court on Thursday constituted a three-member Committee of Administrators (COA) to oversee the functioning of the All India Football Federation (AIFF). This committee will be headed by former Supreme Court judge AR Dave. The work of this committee will be to look after the day-to-day work of the federation and implement the constitution under the National Sports Code. A bench of Justices DY Chandrachud and PS Narasimha said that the limited will consist of two old members DY Qureshi and former Indian football team captain Bhaskar Ganguly.
The court has said that the current situation in the federation is not administratively correct. The court has asked the CoA to take charge of the AIFF and ordered it to assist the court with its inputs to help implement the Constitution.

The bench said that the CoA would prepare the electoral roles for holding the executive committee elections and these elections would be in accordance with the constitution framed by Qureshi and Ganguly. Re-election means that the current president Praful Patel will have to give up his chair. The Sports Ministry recently gave an affidavit in the Supreme Court and said that AIFF President Praful Patel has no right to continue in the post as he has already completed his three terms.
