South Africa is to host the Women’s T20 World Cup next month. The board has announced the team for this tournament in which only its captain Dan Ver Nirkak has been dropped. Sun Luce has been chosen as the captain in place of Nirkak. (Getty Images)
Nirkak has been dropped from the team for failing the fitness test. Due to injury, she was running out of the team for a long time. She had to give a fitness test before returning but she could not pass the two km time trial. The minimum time for this trial is 9.30 minutes while Nikark completed it in 18 minutes. (Getty Images)
Nirkak suffered an ankle injury after which she was out of the team for a long time. He played his last match in the year 2021. She could not even pass the fitness test for the T20 series being played before the World Cup. However, coach Hilton Moreng was confident that Nirkak would make a comeback. (Getty Images)
After this announcement, Nirkak has shared her picture on Instagram, in which she is seen in South Africa’s jersey. In the caption of the picture, she wrote, ‘I am broken.’ Fans are commenting consoling him that he is confident of his captain’s return. (Getty Images)
Not nirkak but his wife and bowler Marijane Cap has definitely got a chance in the team. He is also a part of the tri-series currently being played against India and West Indies. Nirkak will only be seen cheering him this time. (Getty Images)
