The Sri Lankan team, which won a stunning win in the first ODI match, lost by 16 runs in the second match. The Bangladesh spinner, playing the second match of his career, bowled brilliantly and gave the team a bumper victory. He forced the Sri Lankan batsmen to kneel with five wickets. Batting first in the second ODI, the entire Bangladesh team returned to the pavilion after scoring 248 runs in 45.5 overs. In response, the Sri Lankan team was reduced to 232 runs in 48.5 overs. Bangladesh's 28 -year -old bowler Tanveer Islam contributed significantly in covering the Sri Lankan innings, who defeated Sri Lanka with five wickets.

Tanveer Islam did the best bowling

Bangladesh's left -handed spinner Tanveer Islam, playing the second ODI of his career. He showed his bowling in Premadasa Stadium. He sent five Sri Lankan batsmen to the pavilion and won Bangladesh by 16 runs. Tanveer took five wickets for 39 runs with 2 maiden in 10 overs.

This is the best performance of any Bangladesh bowler against Sri Lanka. He was adjudged Player of the Match for his performance. He had only one success in the first ODI against Sri Lanka. Earlier, Bangladeshi batsmen once again batted badly.

Bangladesh's poor start

Bangladesh started very poorly while batting first in the second ODI. His first wicket fell on a score of 10 runs as Tanjid Hasan. After this, Parvez Hussain Emins and Najmul Hussain Shanto (14 runs) tried to handle the team by partnering 63 runs for the second wicket. Emone scored 67 runs off 69 balls.

Apart from the Emon, Tauheed Hriday also put a fantastic fifty. He scored 51 runs off 69 balls. Apart from this, Tazim Hasan Saqib played a fast innings of 33 runs in 21 balls. Despite this, the entire team of Bangladesh was reduced to 248 runs in 45.5 overs. For Sri Lanka, Ashitha Fernando took 4 wickets and Vanndu Hasranga took three wickets. Sri Lanka also had a bad start to chase the target.

Sri Lankan batsmen disappointed

Chasing 249 runs, the Sri Lankan team also started poorly. Opener Pathum Nisanka was dismissed for only five runs. He could not even open an account in the first ODI match. After this, Kusal Mendis and Nishan Madushka shared a 69 -run partnership for the second wicket. During this time, Mendis completed his 34th ODI half -century in just 20 balls, which is the most half -century on this ground. Tanveer Islam was dismissed and sent to the pavilion. Mendis scored 51 runs in 31 balls, but during this time the wickets fell at regular intervals of Sri Lanka.

Sri Lankan batsman Jenith Liange tried to win the team by playing an innings of 78 runs in 85 balls, but he could not get any help from the other end. In this way, the Sri Lankan team returned to the pavilion for 232 runs in 48.5 overs. Apart from Tanveer Islam, Tanjim Hasan Shakib took two wickets. With this victory, the series of three ODIs has become 1-1. The last match will be played in Pallekal on 8 July.
