Indian team captain Shubman Gill has created history in Edgbaston, Birmingham. He has made a great achievement in the second Test against England. Gill has left Sunil Gavaskar, Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar behind. Let me tell you, Gill has scored the biggest score by the Indian player in the Test in England. Gill broke the old record of 46 -year -old Sunil Gavaskar.
Sunil Gavaskar's record broken
Former India player Sunil Gavaskar scored 221 runs at The Oval in 1979. Not only this, in 2002, Rahul Dravid scored an innings of 217 runs at The Oval. The next name in this list is God of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar, who scored 193 runs in 2002. Ravi Shastri also scored 187 runs in 1990 while batting tremendously at The Oval. Now Shubman Gill has reached the top after beating them all. He did not leave any England bowler and played tremendous cricketing shots against all.
Shubman Gill crossed the 200 runs figures for the first time in Test cricket. Everyone has praised his batting. In this match, the Indian captain had a valuable 67 -run partnership for the third wicket with Yashasvi Jaiswal. Not only this, there was a 47 -run partnership for the fourth wicket between Rishabh Pant and Gill. Apart from Shubman Gill, veteran all -rounder Ravindra Jadeja also scored 89 runs in this match.
