Shivam Mavi stepped into the IPL for the first time in 2018 but he could not play the 2019 IPL due to injury.

When the Indian Under-19 team won the World Cup in 2018, many players of that team made headlines. Everyone knew that there was talent in that team. The players who were in the team will go ahead and earn a lot of name, this was also confirmed. It happened as well. The name of the same team was Shivam Mavi. Young fast bowler. Whilst bowling, I used to see that there is a storm. After impressing with his best performance in the World Cup, everyone’s eyes were on Mavi. After the IPL auction in 2018, the two-time winner, Kolkata Knight Riders, joined him.
From here Mavi’s IPL journey started. Mavi has played a total of 17 IPL matches so far and has taken 14 wickets in his name. He played his first match on 14 April 2018 against Sunrisers Hyderabad. In the first match, Mavi could not do anything special and he gave 10 runs in one over. He did not have much of a first season, but he had proved that he is rich in talent, just the right guidance is needed. In the 2018 IPL, Mavi played nine matches and was able to name only five wickets.
Hurt due to injuries
Injuries in the fast bowler’s career bother him a lot. Mavi had suffered injuries early in his career. Mavi could not play IPL in 2019 due to injury. He stayed away from competitive cricket until December 2019 due to a stress fracture. He spent most of his time in Rehab this year. He returned in 2020 and this time he performed better than ever in the IPL. Last year, the IPL was held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to Kovid. In 2020, Mavi played eight matches and took nine wickets in his name. This season too, with his bowling, he will try to give the team a win. KKR has an experienced bowler like Pat Cummins, with whom Mavi can further improve his game.
Speed and bouncer is strength
Mavi was bowling in the nets against Afghanistan at Greater Noida Stadium, when former India player Lalchand Rajput saw him. The characteristics of Mavi that appeal to everyone are his speed and ability to throw a bouncer. Mavi has the ability to throw the ball at a speed of 140 kilometers per hour, that too continuously. Also, his bouncer is considered very dangerous.
