The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the team for the Women’s Under-19 World Cup to be played for the first time. In this World Cup to be held in South Africa next year, India’s women’s under-19 team will be captained by stormy batsman and senior team member Shefali Verma. The BCCI has given information about this by issuing a statement on Monday.
This World Cup will be played from 14 to 29 January. Apart from this, the BCCI has also announced the team for the five-match T20 series to be played with the World Cup hosts South Africa. The captaincy of this team has also been handed over to Shefali Verma. This series will be played in December-January before the World Cup.

Richa Ghosh also got a place
Shefali is not the only player in these two teams who has played in the senior team. Apart from the stormy batsman, another important member of the senior team, Richa Ghosh, has also got a place in the team for the World Cup and for the T20 series. Shefali has played two Tests, 21 ODIs and 46 T20 matches for the senior team of India. Whereas Richa has played 17 ODIs and 25 T20 matches for India.
