South Africa’s best fast bowler Shabinam took 2 wickets in the World Cup final match on Sunday 26 February in Cape Town. Shabnim gave only 26 runs in his 4 overs and took 2 wickets. During this, he also put a maiden over in the powerplay, which put Australia in check in the beginning. (AFP)
After this, in the last over of the innings, Shabnim returned the pavilion to veteran batsmen Ellis Parry and Georgia Wareham in two consecutive balls. Although, she could not complete her hat-trick but played a big role in stopping Australia for 156 runs. (AFP)
Along with this, Shabnim also took the record of most wickets in the history of T20 World Cup. Shabnim has 43 wickets in 32 matches. He broke the record of 41 wickets of former England veteran pacer Anya Shrubsole. (AFP)
While most of the batsmen failed for Australia, star opener Beth Mooney once again showed her mettle in the final. She stood alone in the midst of falling wickets and returned after scoring 74 runs in 53 balls, on the basis of which Australia could score a match-worthy score. (AFP)
