The Pakistan cricket team is currently playing the second Test match against New Zealand at the National Stadium in Karachi. This is also the last match of the series. The first match was a draw. In the first match, Sarfaraz Ahmed returned after a long time and also performed brilliantly with the bat. On the basis of this, he was also selected in the second match. But Sarfaraz made a big mistake on Monday, the first day of the second match. However, Pakistan was saved from suffering the brunt of this. If Pakistan’s captain Babar had listened to Sarfaraz, he would have made a big mistake.
New Zealand ended the first day with 309 runs at the loss of six wickets. The New Zealand team dominated the first two sessions of the day but Pakistan made a comeback in the last session of the day. Here one mistake of Sarfaraz could put Pakistan in trouble.
Sarfaraz said to Babar, didn’t he?
Actually, Pakistan’s off-spinner Aga Salman was throwing the 79th over of the innings. Left-handed batsman Henry Nicholls was in front of him on the last ball of this over. Salman bowled outside the off stump which Nicholls tried to cut but missed. The ball went into the hands of wicketkeeper Sarfaraz. The entire Pakistan team including Babar, Salman appealed on this. The umpire rejected this appeal. Babar seemed confident that the ball took the edge of the bat. Babar wanted to confirm this with Sarfaraz so that DRS could be taken.
Babar and Sarfaraz talked for some time but the wicketkeeper did not appear to agree to take DRS. Babar again listened to his heart and took DRS. In DRS, it was found that the ball took the edge of the bat and went into Sarfaraz’s gloves. That’s why Nicholls had to return after scoring 26 runs. This was New Zealand’s fifth wicket.

Salman made a comeback
Salman brought Pakistan back on the first day by taking three wickets in the last session. He made Daryl Mitchell his victim. Mitchell scored three runs. After this, Nicholls was dismissed and then Mitchell Bracewell was shown the way to the pavilion without opening the account. Earlier, New Zealand made a strong start on the basis of the century partnership between Devon Conway and Tom Latham for the first wicket. Both of them had added 134 runs for the first wicket. Latham was dismissed for 71 runs off 100 balls with the help of nine fours.
At the same time, Conway’s wicket fell on a total score of 234 in the second session. He scored 122 runs in 191 balls. This batsman hit 16 fours in his innings. Apart from this, he also hit a six, former captain Kane Williamson was able to score only 36 runs.
