Ahmedabad: The match played between India and Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium was a draw. It was during this match that India qualified for the final of the ICC World Test Championship. But in this match, Team India also got a bad news. The team’s middle order batsman Shreyas Iyer was ruled out of the match due to a back injury and he will not play in the ODI series as well. Now the question is when will Iyer return. Rohit Sharma disclosed about this after the match.
In the post-match press conference, Rohit Sharma said that Iyer is not looking in good shape at the moment due to lower back pain. Rohit, however, did not specify when Iyer would return to competitive cricket. Iyer is doubtful to play in the three-match ODI series against Australia starting March 17. Also there is doubt on his playing in IPL. He captains Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL.

had to wait all day
Iyer was part of Team India in the fourth Test match but he could not get down to bat. When Rohit was asked about Iyer’s fitness in the press conference after the match, he said, what happened to him is unfortunate. He had to wait a whole day to bat and then when the day’s play was over, his back problem flared up again. He was sent to the hospital for a scan. I do not know the exact report of the scan, but it seems that he is not in a good condition. That is the reason why he is not here.
don’t know when will be fit
The Indian captain said that he did not know how long it would take for Iyer to be match fit again. Rohit said, we do not know how long it will take for him to recover or when he will return. When his injury came to the fore, he did not seem to be in a good condition. I hope he recovers soon and starts playing again.
