Rishabh Pant was made the captain of Team India before the series against South Africa but his start was not good. Pant, however, made a comeback and won two consecutive matches to level the series in the series.
It doesn’t take time to change the atmosphere in cricket. One or two bad matches and criticism starts, then one or two good matches and then the ballads are read in praise. This is what is happening with Rishabh Pant at the moment. Pant got the captaincy of Team India due to the injury of KL Rahul before the five-match T20 series against South Africa. The team failed miserably in the first two matches and Pant’s captaincy was criticized. But the same team India leveled the series by winning the third and fourth T20Is. Now statements praising Pant have started coming. One such statement has come from former India fast bowler Zaheer Khan.
The decider of the series between India and South Africa is to be played in Bangalore on Sunday. The team winning this match will win the series. Before this match, Zaheer Khan has given some special advice to Pant. Zaheer has said that Pant needs to bring balance in the captaincy
we have to time
Zaheer has said that whether Pant should do something or not, it is always about him. The former left-arm fast bowler has said that Pant needs to be given time. Speaking on Cricbuzz, Zaheer said, “When he runs people talk about him, when he doesn’t run people still talk about him. The same pattern with regard to his captaincy. We have to give them time. They have a habit of thinking out-of-the-box. He follows his feelings a lot. They like to take more risks. When he takes tough decisions, he needs to strike a balance. It’s like his batting.”
failed with the bat
Pant has failed miserably with the bat in this series. In this series, he has scored only 55 runs in four innings and during this his strike rate has been 105. Many people are disappointed with the way Pant has been dismissed in this series. South Africa has prepared a special strategy against him and has adopted the strategy of bowling outside the off-stump against this left-handed batsman. A good innings will be expected from Pant in the last T20.
