Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant was injured in a car accident last Friday. He was going from Delhi to his home in Roorkee when his car had an accident. His car overturned after climbing on the divider on the Delhi-Dehradun highway. Pant had leg and head injuries. He is being treated at Max Hospital in Dehradun. Now new information has been received about Pant.
Pant’s car caught fire after hitting the divider. Pant was somehow successful in saving his life. In this, the driver and conductor of Haryana Roadways bus helped Pant. Pant was admitted to the local Civil Hospital in Roorkee and then shifted to Max Hospital in Dehradun.
Pant’s condition improving
The latest update has come regarding Pant’s health. In its report, news agency PTI quoted sources as saying that Pant’s condition is improving and he has been shifted from ICU to private ward. Sources said that after his condition improved on Sunday evening, he was shifted to a private ward, but the pain in his leg continued. He said that there is no plan for MRI as of now.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) director Shyam Sharma, Bollywood actors Anil Kapoor and Anupam Kher visited Pant and his family members at the hospital.
Australia series, out of IPL
Pant has a ligament tear and it may take him three to six months to recover from this injury. PTI had told in its report that it is difficult for Pant to play in the four-match Test series to be played against Australia in February-March due to this injury. He will take time to recover and be match fit. Pant has so far scored 2,271 runs in 33 Tests including five centuries and 11 half-centuries. He has also represented the country in 30 ODIs and 66 T20s.
Pant is also finding it difficult to play in IPL. He is the captain of Delhi Capitals in IPL. If he does not play then it will be a matter of concern for the franchise. The franchise will have to find his replacement as captain and wicketkeeper.
