Rahul Tewatia has played a total of 34 IPL matches so far and has scored a total of 24 wickets, scoring 366 runs.
Rahul Tewatia did a lot of great work in IPL 2020.
Rahul Tewatia has been playing IPL since 2014, but he never got the fame he got last season. This was also the reason. He had made such a demonstration that everyone’s mouths were left open. When the leg-spinner Tewatia’s bat speaks, it says that the bowlers are sweaty. He also makes it difficult for the batsmen to play with their spin. Tewatiya arrived in the Rajasthan Royals last season itself. With this team, he made his IPL debut in 2014, but then the team left him. After Tewatiya’s performance for Rajasthan in 2020, he has become an important player in the team. Tewatiya’s specialty is to take long shots which he showed in the last season.
In 2014, Tewatia played only three matches and in 2015 played only one match. In 2017, he played for Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings). Even Teotia did not get much opportunities. In 2018, he was joined by Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals). This season Tewatia played eight matches for Delhi and took six wickets in his name. There was no shortage of spinners in Delhi. The team also had a bowler like Amit Mishra, in such a situation Tawatia could not become a regular member of the team. In 2019, he played only five matches and was able to take only two wickets.
An innings changed fortunes in 2020
Delhi had left Tawatia and his old team Rajasthan once again added Tewatiya to his team. Homecoming proved to be effective for Tewatiya and the previous season was fantastic for him in every respect. This season, his bat also shone and ball too. The highlight of this season was the match played against Punjab in Sharjah. Initially, Tewatia, who was struggling with the bat, gave the team a record win by hitting five consecutive sixes in the same over of Punjab fast bowler Sheldon Cottrell. Apart from this, Tewatia played some more useful innings with his bat and made important partnerships. Tewatia’s bat in the IPL-2020 was 255 runs in 14 matches. Tewatia had not scored so many runs in any IPL earlier. His highest score was 53 runs. Tewatia had also made a useful contribution to the team with the ball and was the bowler who took wickets at crucial times. Tewatia had taken 10 wickets in 14 matches.
Finishers will be responsible
There are many big batsmen in the Rajasthan team, but they lack a strong finisher. Tewatia had completed this shortcoming to a great extent last season and this time too, he will have the responsibility to finish the match on his shoulders. Last season, Tewatia had 17 sixes and 13 fours off his bat. All of them came while batting in the lower order. Last season was his best season and with this confidence, Tewatia will try to improve more for the team this time and win the match.
