Milk of milk and water of water. You must have heard this phrase. Must have understood the meaning too. So now understand that Venkatesh Prasad has also tried to do something similar between KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan. Former India fast bowler is constantly raising questions about KL Rahul. And, the reason for this is the failure of the Indian batsman. Rahul not being able to capitalize on the opportunities he is getting and in that case some talented and in-form batsmen are sitting on the bench. Which Venkatesh Prasad is not liking at all.
From Nagpur to Delhi Test, Venkatesh Prasad has raised questions on the selection of KL Rahul in the team. He also had a debate on Twitter with some other Indian veterans regarding this. And now that KL Rahul has been selected in the team for the third and fourth Tests of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy as well, Venkatesh Prasad has tried to expose them using statistics as a weapon.
Prasad did milk of milk, water of water
In his latest tweet, Venkatesh Prasad has put the figures of KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan in front of the world, and has tried to tell who is better among the two. Who is awesome as an opener? Through these figures, Prasad not only targeted KL Rahul, but raised questions on his selection in his own style. Rather, Shikhar Dhawan was also described as a better Test opener than him.
There is a view that KL Rahul has an outstanding overseas Test record. But stats speak otherwise. He has a test average of 30 overseas in 56 innings. He has scored 6 overseas centuries but followed it up with a string of low scores thats why averaging 30. Lets look at a few others pic.twitter.com/MAvHM01TcY

Shikhar Dhawan has the best overseas average among recent openers. Avg of nearly 40 with 5 100s. Though he hasn’t been too consistent in Test but had Outstanding centuries in SL and NZ, plus a much better home record. pic.twitter.com/rH94R0a3A0

It is clear from these statistics that Shikhar Dhawan has the best average in both ways than KL Rahul whether Test matches are played at home or outside the home i.e. on foreign soil. His figures are better than Rahul’s. Then the simple question is why Shikhar Dhawan is out of the team and why is Rahul in?
This step of the Indian team is not the answer to the question asked by Prasad.
Let us tell you that Venkatesh Prasad has been continuously targeting KL Rahul since the first time Team India was selected for the Border Gavaskar Trophy. He is hurt about keeping Shubman Gill on the bench because of KL Rahul. Not only this, in his multiple tweets, Prasad also named players like Sarfaraz Khan, Mayank Agarwal and said that they are continuously doing better. If there is no dearth of options, then why so much trust in KL Rahul? It is clear that considering the way Rahul is performing, the questions raised by Venkatesh Prasad are not wrong either. And, perhaps by removing KL Rahul from the vice-captaincy of the next two Tests, the Indian team management has tried to answer the direct questions asked by Prasad.
