Six players did not get visa
Speaking to PTI from the airport, Jai Prakash Nautiyal, chief national coach and chairman of Indian para shooting, said, “Avni and her coach have got visas but her escort, who is also her mother, could not get them.” Besides this, three para shooters Singhraj, Rahul Jhakhar and Deepinder Singh (all para pistol shooters) and two coaches Subhash Rana (national coach) and Vivek Saini (assistant coach) did not get visas. The French embassy did not give any reason, he said. He only said that there is a huge demand for visas. We had applied for visa on April 23. The Ministry of External Affairs also intervened and tried to help us but six members could not get the visa.
