The sting operation of a news channel on the chief selector of the Indian team, Chetan Sharma, has created a stir. He has allegedly made several revelations, which have created a ruckus. Chetan revealed that Indian cricketers take injections to keep themselves fit. He said that despite being 80 per cent fit to play, Indian players become 100 per cent fit. This is not a pen killer. He further said that there is a drug in these injections, which is not caught in the dope test.
Chetan revealed that some star players get the green signal from the National Cricket Academy despite not being fully fit. The selector is then asked to take a final call on them.
- The chief selector revealed that Jasprit Bumrah was forcibly included in the team against South Africa last year. The seriousness of his injury can be gauged from this only, if he had played a single match in the T20 World Cup, he would have been out for a year.
- Chetan Sharma said that Hardik Pandya has to come to his house, while captain Rohit Sharma talks to him for half an hour.
- He said that star players are being made to sit out in the name of rest, when a new name has to be given a chance, then the big player is given rest.
- On Virat Kohli’s captaincy controversy, Chetan Sharma said that he felt that his captaincy was lost because of Sourav Ganguly, whereas it is not so. In the video conference of 9 people, Ganguly told him to think once, but perhaps Kohli did not listen to him.
