Renuka Singh was recently bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 1.50 crore in the Women’s Premier League (WPL 2023) auction.

The Indian women’s cricket team is currently playing in the ICC T20 World Cup in South Africa. The England team is in front of this team on Saturday. India’s fast bowler Renuka Singh did wonders against this team. She took five wickets in this match and created history with this. She has become the first fast bowler in the country to take five wickets in T20. Renuka has told that she can lead the fast bowling attack of Team India. But Renuka’s journey till here has not been easy.
Renuka wore Team India’s jersey after a lot of struggle. According to Sportstar’s report, she lost her father at the age of three. She could not even see her father Kehar Singh properly. She only listened to her father’s stories. After that her mother got a job in the Irrigation Department and made her daughter capable.
Left home to become cricket
His father was very fond of cricket and hence named his elder son after Vinod Kambli. Renuka fell in love with cricket when she was in school. She used to play cricket with tennis ball during the day and slowly this game got settled in her veins. Her uncle Bhupinder Singh convinced Renuka’s family to get her admitted to the cricket academy. He told Renuka’s family that Renuka should be sent to Dharamshala so that she can take her cricket career forward. After this Renuka enrolled in the Women’s Academy of Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association. When Renuka was 13 years old, she left her home and set out to become a cricketer.
In Dharamshala, she improved her game under the supervision of Pawan Sen and from there she has reached where she is doing wonders for Team India in the World Cup. He is counted among the best fast bowlers of the team. She took 21 wickets in the Challenger Trophy in 2018-19 and her fortunes changed from here. She then played for India-A and then for the Indian team.

Renuka’s talent can also be gauged from the fact that in the recent auction of the first season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL), she was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore at a huge price. Renuka had kept her base price at Rs 50 lakh. As soon as his name came, Bangalore and Delhi Capitals started bidding. In the end, Bangalore added him for a price of Rs 1.50 crore.
