Kuldeep used to be the trump card of captain Virat Kohli but he has not got much opportunities in the last seven months.
Kuldeep Yadav is included in Kolkata Knight Riders
The last few months have not been special for Kuldeep Yadav, who was part of the Indian team. Whether in IPL or Team India, they have got few chances. However, despite this, he has not given up and he is ready to return. Kuldeep Yadav told that despite being out of the team, he always inspired himself and he knows that this is a game where it all goes on.
Kuldeep Yadav played only one ODI on the tour of Australia, and then played one Test and two ODIs during England’s tour of India. He has not played a single T20 since the last season of IPL. Even in the IPL held in September last year, he was able to play only five matches for KKR.
Kuldeep does not feel pressured to stay out of the team
In order to motivate himself in such circumstances, Kuldeep Yadav said, ‘It is easy. As a cricketer, you want to play and you always think that you are going to play. But circumstances do not always allow you to play. Often, the demands of the team are different, and the necessary combinations for different matches are also taken into consideration. But it doesn’t mean much to me. Because you should not think too much about it because it is not under your control. And I don’t think much about it.
The opportunity is given according to the need of the team
He further said, ‘I want to play for the team. But I also have to think about the team. If you are able to contribute to the team or you have a need, then obviously you play. But if there is no space and another player who fits, then that is also good. I never worried about it (not being able to play). I have a lot of self-confidence. I was also bowling very well. I liked myself and kept my confidence level high. I was not very worried and never went into depression. But the team management was always clear – whatever decision they took, they took after talking to me. If you perform then you are happy, if you do not know how to play then that is also a part of the game. You just keep working
