Since then, he has played only three seasons in the IPL and has not played a single season. He has played 14 matches so far and taken 18 wickets. Richardson made his first class debut in 2010–11. Only two years after this, in 2013, he was selected in the IPL. He was bought by the Pune Warriors team for Rs 3.7 crore. He was the third most expensive player of that season. Also, till that time he had played only six first class matches.
In IPL 2013, Richardson played only three matches for Pune Warriors. In this, he took two wickets. He then moved back to Australia. In the IPL 2014 auction, Rajasthan Royals bought him for one crore rupees. In this season, he played seven matches and took 9 wickets. Here he took seven wickets in four matches. After this, he did not join IPL 2018 due to his dream of playing Test for Australia and due to marriage. RCB bought for four crores but Richardson did not play
He sent the name in the IPL 2020 auction and RCB bought him for four crore rupees. There was a contest between RCB and Rajasthan Royals to take them. But Richardson withdrew from the tournament due to the birth of the first child. In such a situation, if they play in IPL 2021, they will return after five years. 30-year-old Ken Richardson has played a total of 126 T20 matches so far and has taken 152 wickets. Four wickets for 22 runs is his best performance. However, in the IPL, he is yet to leave the mark of his skill.
