Johnny Bairstow: fit every role
Every player has a character, which he plays for his team. He seems to be trying to postpone his team’s victory by falling into it and sometimes defeating his team. Johnny Bairstow also knows his role well for Sunrisers Hyderabad. He is in double role for this team on the IPL pitch. Meaning their role is double. His awesome looks as an opener from the front of the wicket and from the back of the wicket in the role of wicketkeeper. For Sunrisers, Bairstow takes the responsibility of first attacking opponents with David Warner. The interesting thing is that since Bairstow has been associated with Sunrisers, he is fully fit as an opener and wicketkeeper in both the roles.
England’s wicketkeeper batsman was added by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2018 mega auction. But, he played the first match for the Orange Army in the 2019 IPL season. Bairstow made his IPL debut against Kolkata Knight Riders on 24 March 2019. His debut was neither good for his explosive temperament, for which he is known, nor for the Sunrisers team. Bairstow scored just 39 runs in his IPL debut, facing 35 balls. And, SRH had to face defeat in this match.
SRH’s first keeper, who scored a century
However, he did not have to wait long to leave his mark. In the same season played against Rajasthan Royals at SRH’s home ground, he scored an explosive 45 off 28 balls. This was also the match from where Bairstow started keeping for SRH in IPL. The occasion also came on 6 March after the IPL debut, on 30 March 2019, when Bairstow became the first wicket-keeper batsman of SRH to score an IPL century. Bairstow scored 114 runs in 56 balls against Royal Challengers Bangalore at a strike rate of more than 200 from 56 balls.
Bairstow’s record in IPL

Bairstow scored 345 runs in 11 matches played in IPL 2020, with 3 half-centuries. If you look at the overall IPL career of this wicket-keeper batsman of SRH, then he has scored 719 runs at an average of 41.59 in the 21 matches played since the wicket.
