International cricket has hit England’s fast bowler Sam Karan. He has been fined 15 percent of the match fee. Karan has received this punishment because of his behavior in the second ODI played against South Africa. The second ODI match between England and South Africa was played in Bloemfontein on 29 January. South Africa won the match by five wickets and took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. The third ODI match between these two teams will be played on Wednesday.
Karan’s pocket is loose before this match, which is not good news for him. England is the world champion and no one had expected that this would be the condition of this team against South Africa. In the third ODI, England will come down to save their shame. If this team loses today’s match then they will lose the series 3-0 which captain Jos Buttler would not want at any cost.
today’s big news
fined for this
Karan has breached Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which covers using language or gestures against a player, support staff or batsman after his dismissal, which incites him to engage in some offensive behaviour. Apart from this, a demerit point has also come in Karan’s account.
Actually, during the 28th over of South Africa’s innings in the second match, Karan dismissed the captain of the host team, Temba Bavuma. He then celebrated aggressively on seeing Bavuma. For this reason, he has been fined 15 percent of the match fee.
Karan admits his mistake
Curran accepted the allegations made by ICC match referee Jeff Crowe and that is why no official hearing was required. These allegations were made on Karan by Marius Erasmus and Adrian Holdstock, third umpire Bongani Yele, fourth umpire Allahuddin Palekar, who umpired in this match.
Money rained in IPL
Karan is the most expensive player in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He was bought by Punjab Kings in the IPL 2023 auction for 18.50 crores. Earlier he used to play in Chennai Super Kings. But this time he has returned to Punjab. He has also played IPL for Punjab before.
