E-Auction will start from 11 o’clock
Today is a big day for Indian cricket and BCCI. Today there will be an E-Auction for the media rights of IPL. This auction can start from 11 am. First there will be auction for Package A and Package B, for which a fight will be seen between Sony Network, Disney Char and Reliance Viacom 18. ZEE can also stake its claim for Package A. Google and Amazon have already withdrawn their names.
Media rights for the next five seasons of IPL (IPL Media Rights) Bidding will be done for today. At present, these rights are with Star Network. Viacom18 JV (Giant Venture), current rights holder Walt Disney (Star), Zee and Sony are the four contenders for the package whose TV and digital markets are in the race. Reliance Industries Limited’s Viacom18 is considered one of the strong contenders for both TV and digital rights. Earlier, Amazon’s name was also included in the race but he got out of the race without giving any reason. E-Auction will be held for two days for 74 matches of every season. The auction will be held for a period of five years from 2023 to 2027, in which the number of matches can be increased to 94 in the last two years.
