With much fanfare and record prices in Kochi as well IPL 2023 Season The short auction for . Once again all the 10 teams shopped fiercely and new records were made. Punjab Kings got England’s Sam Karan back with him after two years and for this he set a new record by making the highest bid of Rs 18.50 crore in the history of IPL auction. Apart from Sam Karan, a lot of money was also spent on bigwigs like Ben Stokes and Harry Brook of England.
Altogether 80 players were bought in the auction this time, for which 167 crores i.e. 1.67 billion rupees were spent. Sunrisers Hyderabad bought maximum 13 players, while a total of 5 players got bids of more than 10 crores.
