Royal Challengers Bangalore will face Mumbai Indians on 9 April in the inaugural match of the 14th season of IPL.
Devadatta Pikkal is a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore, captained by Virat Kohli in the IPL.
Devdutt Padikkal, the young opener of Royal Challengers Bangalore, is currently spending his time quarantined due to corona being infected. RCB, captained by Virat Kohli, will face Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians in the inaugural match of the 14th season of the Indian Premier League. The match will be played on 9 April in Chennai. Even though Devadatta Padikkal is a part of Virat’s team and he has scored the most runs for the team in the last season of the IPL in the United Arab Emirates, when it comes to choosing a cricketing role model, Kohli’s name is not on Padikkal’s tongue come. Rather, Devadatta calls Team India’s former opener Gautam Gambhir his ideal.
According to the Times of India report, Devadatta Padikkal, a 21-year-old young batsman from Karnataka, said for me, there is no single person who has inspired me. Everyone has a different story and everyone has a different significance. I take inspiration from every cricketer playing for India because it is not easy to reach this point. You have to throw a lot to reach there. But my role model in this game is Gautam Gambhir. I grew up watching him bat. I still watch videos of his batting. I still like his batting very much.
4 centuries and 3 fifties in 7 matches
In the Vijay Hazare Trophy played earlier this year, Devadatta Padikkal scored 737 runs at an impressive average of 147.40. He scored these runs in seven matches. In these seven matches, he scored four consecutive centuries, while in the remaining three matches, three half-centuries were also released from his bat. Apart from this, in the IPL 2020 played in the United Arab Emirates, Devadatt had scored the most 473 runs in 15 matches for RCB. Padikkal is currently home quarantine due to being infected with the corona virus. In such a situation, while RCB has to play its first match on April 9, there is little hope that Devadatta will be able to be a part of it. It is believed that Devdutt can stay out of RCB’s playing eleven for the first few matches. In such a situation, the responsibility of opening can be entrusted to the young flamboyant opener Fin Allen of New Zealand.
