RCB, captained by Virat Kohli, has to fight 5-time champion MI in the first match of the season.
Virat Kohli is the captain of RCB since IPL 2013.
Captain Virat Kohli will start his campaign from Friday 9 April to make Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Indian Premier League (IPL) champions for the first time. In the very first match of IPL 2021, the team faces the 5-time champion and Mumbai Indians (MI), who have captured the title in the last two consecutive seasons. In such a situation, the challenge before Virat’s team is already very big. However, Kohli believes that this time too there will be a competition between the teams and the reason for this is the distance from the home ground. Kohli has said that all teams will get a chance to show their true strength.
Due to Coronavirus, this time the tournament is being held in only 6 grounds, but no team will play matches in their home ground. Each team will play all 14 matches of the league stage in only 3 different grounds. In such a situation, the challenge will remain the same for all the teams without the help of domestic conditions and domestic audience and that is why the competition will be strong.
No team in profit
A day before the season’s opening match against Mumbai Indians, an interview of Kohli was posted on RCB’s social media accounts, in which Kohli talked about it. Kohli compared this season to the previous season in the UAE, where no team had the advantage of home ground. Kohli said, “The good thing is that we are playing back in India and one positive aspect is that there is no home advantage like last season. Everyone is playing in the neutral venue and the strength of your squad comes to the right. ”
This time too there will be fierce
The RCB captain said that due to similar circumstances in the last season, the tournament was very competitive till the end and there was a tremendous jump in the number of visitors to the tournament. Kohli hoped to do the same this time and said, “I hope to do the same this time.” The tournament is going to be very competitive. “

Kohli would like to advance from the playoffs
Last season, Kohli’s team was successful in reaching the playoffs. RCB had done well in the first part of the tournament, but the team was derailed in the last few matches. Nevertheless, they made it to the playoffs for the first time after 2016, where Sunrisers Hyderabad beat them out. Kohli will try to get the title by leading the team to the final this time.
