At the start of the Indian Premier League 2021 (IPL 2021) season, there are now only 3 days left. The new season will begin with a clash between Chennai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore, headed by two of the biggest players in Indian cricket – Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in Chennai on April 9. It is a challenge for Bangalore to win their first title. To meet this challenge, Bangalore bought some new weapons in the auction this time and one of them is Glenn Maxwell, who has spent a lot of money and hopes of RCB. Maxwell has also shown in the practice match how he will improve his performance this time.
Mumbai, which has won the title in the last 2 consecutive seasons, will also come down as the strongest contender this time. In such a situation, it is going to be very difficult for Bangalore to begin. In such a situation, for the good performance of Bangalore, it is important that all the players continue to perform better. Giants like Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers have been doing this work continuously, but now the team will also expect and need a tremendous game from their new superstar Glenn Maxwell.
Maxwell showed the power of reverse sweep
Maxwell’s previous season was very bad with the Punjab Kings. Despite this, RCB bought the Australian all-rounder with a huge price of 14.25 crores. Therefore, there will be a lot of expectations and pressure on Maxwell. Maxwell, however, is ready to face it and he showed it his first glimpse in front of RCB players and team management.
Maxwell was seen batting during a practice match at the Bangalore-based training camp in Chennai. During this, the right-handed batsman made several big shots. RCB posted a video of his batting on his Twitter account. The most special in this video was Maxwell’s reverse sweep and switch hit, which he practiced the most.

RCB gets high hopes from Maxwell
Maxwell has always been a dangerous performer while playing in an Australian jersey, but his performance in the IPL has never touched that level. Therefore, the challenge is to get RCB to perform better than them. RCB Director of Cricket Mike Hewson has already said that he is looking at Maxwell as a finisher in the team.
