The final round of IPL 2021 has started and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have confirmed their place as the first finalist of the tournament. In the first qualifier, the team led by MS Dhoni defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) in a thrilling match. Now the wait is for the second finalist, whose picture will take two matches to clear and its first match is going to be held in Sharjah today. Royal Challengers Bangalore, who finished third in the points table after the league stage, will face the fourth number Kolkata Knight Riders. Both the teams are in good form, but it is a do or die match and in such a situation, KKR are waiting for the fit of their star, who has a tremendous record against RCB.
In this eliminator match between Bangalore and Kolkata, the losing team’s journey will end, while the winning team will have to face Delhi. In such a situation, both the teams would like to go with their best players. Bangalore is looking more prepared in this matter, but Kolkata is also not behind. However, the team is concerned about the fitness of its formidable all-rounder Andre Russell, who is out of four matches in a row. Russell played his last match against Chennai Super Kings and since then has not been able to play any match due to injury.
Hit 370 runs at a strike rate of 211
Andre Russell’s season, however, has not been very good and he has not proved to be very effective except on a few occasions, but against RCB he often performs well. Whether it is an explosive innings with the bat or dazzle with the ball, Russell loves to play against Bangalore and his record is witness to that.
Andre Russell has scored fiercely in 12 matches against Bangalore in IPL history. He has scored 370 runs in 12 innings, with an average of 46.25 and an astonishing strike rate of 215.11. In this he has also hit 35 sixes. At the same time, in bowling too, Russell has taken 10 wickets.
In the last match, the ball was shown
In the second part of IPL 2021 being held in UAE, Andre Russell also showed his flair in the clash between Bangalore and Kolkata. He did not get a chance to bat, but he did a match-winning performance with the ball. Russell took 3 wickets for just 9 runs in 3 overs, in which AB de Villiers was bowled on the very first ball, due to which RCB’s innings was battered. Obviously, KKR will benefit from Russell’s return, while RCB’s team will hope that at least Russell stays away from today’s match as well.
