IPL 2021: RCB veteran salutes Virat Kohli’s captaincy, said- The impact it made on the team is no less than the trophy

विराट कोहली का बड़ा खुलासा, RCB मैनेजमेंट के चलते प्रेशर में थे, 2019 में छोड़ने वाले थे कप्तानी

Both Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers are good friends.

Virat Kohli’s journey as the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) finally ended without any success. With a close defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Eliminator match of IPL 2021, Virat and Bangalore’s dream of winning the title remained unfulfilled. Kohli had decided to leave the captaincy of RCB even before the second half of this season started in the UAE. In such a situation, even after being the captain of the team for 9 years, there is a lot of disappointment among the fans due to being empty-handed and they are emotional about leaving the captaincy of Kohli. Not only the fans, but his teammates in RCB also looked emotional on this occasion. Kohli’s most special teammate in RCB and veteran batsman AB de Villiers said that the Indian captain will never understand the kind of impact he has made on this team.

Since taking over the captaincy of RCB in 2013, Kohli has been trying to get his team the title, but he never got success. He could only take the team to the final once in 2016, where he had to face defeat at the hands of Sunrisers Hyderabad. Under Kohli’s captaincy, Bangalore played 140 matches in the IPL, but he could win only 66 matches. The team qualified for the playoffs in two consecutive seasons in 2020 and 2021, but lost in the Eliminator both times.

Kohli’s big impact on the team

In the team meeting of RCB after the defeat against Kolkata, AB de Villiers praised Virat Kohli’s captaincy and said that he inspired everyone with his leadership. In the video posted by RCB on social media, the veteran batsman said,

“I have been here for many years after Virat became captain and I think the word that comes to mind is ‘thank you’. We were very lucky that you led us. The way you led this team has inspired everyone. It has definitely inspired me to become better as a player and as a person. It has had a bigger impact on the team than you think.”

Touched the lives of many people: De Villiers

Speaking about Kohli’s leadership, de Villiers said that he taught the players of the team to believe in themselves. De Villiers said, “I know your personality on and off the field. You make people believe in themselves, which is more important than winning a trophy, which I still believe you will win it. You have touched the lives of many people on and off the field and you have never heard of such stories.”

Kohli will always be associated with RCB

At the same time, Kohli once again reiterated that he will be associated with this team as a batsman after leaving the captaincy. Kohli said that under his captaincy he always gave 120 percent and tried to take the team forward under his leadership. The Indian captain also said that next year the team has to be prepared for the coming times, which can take this team to the next level. RCB will now also be looking for a new captain in the big auction to be held before the next season.
