Indian women cricket team has not played Test matches for a long time. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah announced during the Test series played between the men’s teams of India and England that the women teams of these two countries will play Test matches in the coming times. The Indian women’s cricket team will go on a tour of England in June-July and will play a series of three ODIs and as many T20 matches in addition to playing a Test match in Bristol.
The Test match will be played at the Bristol County Ground from 16–19 June and will begin with the England team’s summer season. This test match will be for four days. The Indian women’s team will play Test cricket for the first time since 2014, while England played the last Test during the Ashes series in 2019. Three ODIs and three T20 Internationals will be played after the only Test. The tour ends in Chelmsford on 15 July.
Important year for ECB
The event was announced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). After the domestic schedule was announced, ECB Chief Executive Officer Tom Harrison said, “We are looking forward to the busy summer season, this will be an important year for the England women’s team and we are looking forward to hosting India and New Zealand.”
Harrison said, “As the 2022 ICC Women’s World Cup draws to a close, it is very important that the England team be able to prepare well for it. The team also has to tour Pakistan in October and in such a situation, we are looking forward to an exciting 12 months in international women’s cricket. “
This will be the program
India’s tour of England will begin with the Test match commencing on 16 June. After this the ODI series will be played. Three matches of this series will be played on 27, 30 June and 3 July. First ODI Bristol County Ground, Second ODI The Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton. The third ODI will be played at New Road, Worcester. The T20 series will begin on July 9. The match will take place at The County Ground, Northampton. The First Central County Ground, Hove will host the second T20 match and The CloudFM County Ground, Chelmsford will host the third T20 match.
Be the first team to win four consecutive Test matches!
India played South Africa in their last Test match in 2014. In 2014 itself, the team played a Test match against England. He also won in this. Prior to 2014, India played their last Test series in 2006. That too against England. If India wins the Test match played against England this year, it will become the first team to win four consecutive matches in women’s Test cricket. Earlier, he had won against South Africa in 2014-2015, England in 2014 and England in 2006.
