He played an inning of 230 runs for the Bombay team. After this, he scored 117 runs in Bombay’s victory in the Ranji Trophy final. Till 1947-48 Ibrahim’s star was seen touching the sky. In this season, he scored 1171 runs at an average of 167.29. In the same season, he also scored 709 runs without getting out. He scored these runs due to his 5 unmatched innings, which included scores like 218 not out, 36 not out, 234 not out, 77 not out and 114 runs. He was chosen Indian Cricketer of the Year because of making a world record of 709 runs without getting out.
