In the next four months, the Indian team will play 5 Test matches in England, in which 12 innings will be played. These 12 innings will decide whether this big record will be broken in the coming time?

The next four months are heavy on a big record of world cricket. This record is a big record in the history of cricket. Actually, the Indian team will be in England for the next four months. Where first he has to play the final of the World Test Championship. Which will be played against New Zealand from June 18. After this, the Indian team will play a five-Test series against England Cricket Team. During these matches, a player will land in the field whose bat if he goes, then the danger on that big record will increase. Those players are the captain of the Indian team, Virat Kohli and this is a big record of hundred centuries (100 centuries) in international cricket.
Before proceeding further, let me remind you two things – Firstly, Test cricket started between England and Australia in 1877. Since then, in the history of about one and a half hundred years till now, the only player has scored a century. Those players are – India’s run machine Sachin Tendulkar. It has been discussed in world cricket for a long time that if Sachin’s record of hundred centuries is ever broken, then only Virat Kohli will break it. But Virat’s bat has been quiet for many months. In such a situation, the next 12 Test innings will decide the future of this record.
12 innings will change the pace of Virat
For the past several months, Virat Kohli’s luck is not going well. He has been waiting for a century for a long time. The number of his centuries has stopped at 70. A century has been awaited for the last one and a half years in his career. Virat Kohli scored his last century against Bangladesh in Kolkata. In that Test match played in November 2019, Virat Kohli scored 136 runs. Earlier in ODIs, he scored a century in August. That century was against the West Indies at the Port of Spain. Virat Kohli then scored not out 114 runs. Since then Virat Kohli’s bat has not scored a century.
In ODI cricket, he managed to cross 80 runs three times but could not convert it into a century. He has two innings of 89–89 runs in 85 ODIs against the West Indies and in the ODI series against Australia. But it is not a century.
The story is similar in T20 format as well. In the T20 series against Australia and England, Virat Kohli crossed the 70 and twice 80 figures twice but did not reach the century again. In the last T20 series against Australia, he scored 85 runs. Apart from this, he also scored innings of 73, 77 and 80 in the T20 series against England. Many of these innings are such that when Virat Kohli is not out, he did not get a century.
Never waited so much for a century
This is the worst period of Virat Kohli’s career in terms of centuries. After starting his Test career in 2008, 2020 was the first calendar year when Virat Kohli could not score a single century. If we talk about the last three years before 2020, Kohli had scored 29 centuries. In 2017 and 2018, he scored 11–11 centuries, while in 2019 he also had 7 centuries in his name.
By the way, it should not be forgotten that almost the whole year of 2020 was lost to Corona. Virat Kohli played only 9 ODIs, 3 Tests and 10 T20 matches in 2020. In it, he scored 842 runs.
The interesting thing is that seven such occasions came when Virat Kohli hit a half-century but he could not convert it into a century. Virat Kohli has also scored three centuries in his Test career against New Zealand. His Test average against New Zealand is also more than 50. In such a situation, this is a good chance to end this wait.
If you go great then don’t stop
The danger on the record of 100 centuries is because Virat Kohli does not stop again when he walks. If Virat Kohli scored a century in the World Test Championship final or in the opening Test match against England, then in the next four months, he can also increase his number of centuries from 70 to 75. During the 2014 series against Australia, Virat Kohli had scored 4 centuries in the same series. Apart from this, he has also scored 3 centuries in the 2017 domestic series against Sri Lanka. Remember also the IPL of 2016. In the same season, Virat Kohli had hit 4 centuries. These examples are telling that if the wait for Virat Kohli’s centuries is over, then the number of centuries will run fast. He has 12 Test innings in the next four months.
Sachin also took the name of Virat
It was many years ago. It was a celebration of Sachin Tendulkar’s hundred centuries. All the well-known personalities of the country were present in the hall. Salman Khan asked Sachin if he felt that someone would be able to break this record now. In response to this question, Sachin said that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are such players who can break this record. Rohit Sharma is still far behind in this race but Virat Kohli grew rapidly on this side. Virat is around 33 years old now. He still has time for the next four-five years. He currently has 27 Test and 43 ODI centuries in his account. If he has to reach the century of his centuries, then now he will have to score 5-6 centuries every year. But the first big wait is of century number-71.
