Rishabh Pant dropped a catch off Mohammed Shami in the 10th over, Cheteshwar Pujara avoided being a victim of a major accident.
IND VS SA: Pant dropped the catch, Pujara narrowly escaped!
On the third day of the Centurion Test, the Indian bowlers got off to a great start. Shami, Bumrah and Siraj together dismissed the top 4 batsmen of South Africa for just 32 runs. However, there were some mistakes in the midst of the best performance of the Indian bowlers. In the 10th over, wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant dropped the catch of Aiden Markram. Pant left the catch of Markram but at the same time, Cheteshwar Pujara would have suffered a major injury because of him. But luckily, Pujara narrowly escaped.
Actually Mohammed Shami’s ball went behind the wicket with the outer edge of Aiden Markram’s bat. Pant dived to his right but the ball hit his gloves and went towards Pujara standing at first slip. The ball hit Pujara’s chest. Had the ball been up even 2 inches, Pujara’s mouth could have been seriously injured.

Pant’s mistake would have cost Pujara!
Many times the ball has hit the fielders on the cricket field and it is very dangerous because the fielders do not wear helmets.
Shami produces another absolute peach. This one is moving away just a touch after pitching. Markram is squared up and outside edges. Pant dives across to his right but gets only a fingertip to it. Pujara at first slip has no chance and gets clocked in the chest. #INDvSA #SAvIND

Shami corrected Pant’s mistake
Aiden Markram, who was given life by leaving a catch by Pant, was walked by Shami in the 12th over. Shami blew Markram’s off-stump on the fifth ball of the 12th over. The ball came out on the pitch and Markram could not understand it. Markram was dismissed after scoring 13 runs. Shami had also bowled Keegan Pietersen before him. Pietersen could not understand the ball coming inside Shami and the ball hit his bat and went into the stump. Apart from Shami, Bumrah made South African captain Dean Elgar walk for one run in the very first over. Mohammad Siraj gets the big wicket of Rasi van der Dusan.
